Board of Harbor Commissioner Diane Diel

Diane Diel, President of the Board

Diane Diel was first appointed as a Board of Harbor Commissioner on December 4, 2013. Commissioner Diel was elected President of the Board of Harbor Commissioners on June 11, 2026. Commissioner Diel received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. Commissioner Diel is engaged in private practice and has broad experience in virtually all facets of civil practice and litigation. Commissioner Diel’s primary focus is on family law, and she has been recognized as a Super Lawyer every year since 2005. Commissioner Diel is a past president of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin, and the Milwaukee Area Association of Women Lawyers. Commissioner Diel currently serves as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Ethics Committee and as Director of the Association of Women Lawyer’s Foundation. Commissioner Diel has been involved in many community organizations, including Our Home Foundation (Meta House).

Craig Mastantuono, Vice-President of the Board

Craig Mastantuono was first appointed to the Board of Harbor Commissioners by Mayor Tom Barrett in 2006. Commissioner Mastantuono was elected Vice-President of the Board of Harbor Commissioners on June 11, 2026. Commissioner Mastantuono holds a BBA in business administration from Loyola University of Chicago and a law degree from DePaul University of Chicago. He is a partner at Mastantuono Coffee & Thomas SC, a Milwaukee law firm focused on criminal justice cases and crisis management. The proud son and grandson of immigrants from Italy and Mexico, he is a past-President of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyer’s Association (WHLA). Commissioner Mastantuono has been recognized as a Leader in the Law by the Wisconsin Law Journal and was honored as one of the United Way’s Philanthropic 5 for his firm’s charitable support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. He is an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School.

Board of Harbor Commissioner Claude Krawczyk

Claude Krawczyk, Harbor Commissioner

Claude Krawczyk was appointed to the Board of Harbor Commissioners by City of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on July 30, 2008. A lifelong resident of Milwaukee, Commissioner Krawczyk has served in many leadership roles within his community, serving as a chairperson, board member, and officer for a number of non-profit organizations since 1988. Commissioners Krawczyk has also served as volunteer legal counsel to numerous community organizations helping them to achieve their goals. Since 1986, Commissioner Krawczyk has served as an Attorney for O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, Dejong, & Laing, S.C., a Milwaukee-based law firm, representing landlords and tenants in commercial lease transactions, developers of real property, lenders and borrowers in loan transactions, and business owners drafting and negotiating manufacturing, distribution, and other related agreements and contracts.

Sally R. Peltz, Harbor Commissioner

Sally R. Peltz was appointed to the Board of Harbor Commissioners by Mayor Cavalier Johnson in 2025. Commissioner Peltz has held leadership roles in the governance of numerous for-profit and non-profit entities. She received a five-year gubernatorial appointment to the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Board of Trustees. In addition, she served as Special Assistant to the President of MCW during the growth of its medical school and the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center. Commissioner Peltz was a major investor and co-founder of Legacy Bancorp and Legacy Bank. Additionally, she founded Legacy Redevelopment Corporation and Legacy Midwest Renewal Corporation entities that have expanded access to nontraditional capital and affordable housing. In 2018 she received a mayoral appointment to the City of Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission where she continues to serve in that capacity. She has been recognized as a Women of Influence awardee by the Milwaukee Business Journal for her dedication to her profession and exemplary leadership. 

Board of Harbor Commissioner Kathleen Smith

Kathleen Smith, Harbor Commissioner

Kathleen Smith was first appointed as a Board of Harbor Commissioner on December 4, 2013. Commissioner Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Accounting from St. Xavier College in Chicago, Illinois. Commissioner Smith began her work experience as a Congressional aide, focusing on immigration, naturalization, social security disability, and appointments to the U.S. Military Academies. Commissioner Smith went on to become assist regional partner for Hyatt Legal Services. Commissioner Smith has managed finances and investments for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, World Mission Office. Commissioner Smith is currently the Finance Office and Human Resources Manager at the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, Inc.

Alderwoman Andrea Pratt, Harbor Commissioner

Alderwoman Andrea M. Pratt is a dedicated public servant and advocate for the residents of Milwaukee’s 1st District. Elected to the Milwaukee Common Council on April 18, 2023, and re-elected in 2024, she is committed to community engagement, policy reform, and
equitable representation.

A lifelong resident of the 1st District, Alderwoman Pratt has a deep-rooted passion for public service. She is the daughter of former Milwaukee Mayor and Common Council President Marvin Pratt, continuing a proud family legacy of leadership. Before taking office, she served as a parent coordinator with Milwaukee Public Schools, where she worked to strengthen family engagement and student success.

On the Milwaukee Common Council, she plays a pivotal role in shaping policy as:
• Vice-Chair of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee
• Member of the Licenses Committee
• Member of the Public Works Committee

Alderwoman Pratt is a strong voice for diversity, inclusion, and equitable governance. In 2024, she publicly addressed the lack of Black women in leadership roles within the Council, advocating for greater representation and opportunity. Her priorities include public safety, infrastructure improvements, economic development, and community-driven policies that enhance the quality of life for Milwaukee residents.
With a clear vision and unwavering commitment, Alderwoman Andrea M. Pratt is dedicated to building a stronger, more inclusive Milwaukee. She was appointed to the Board of Harbor Commissioners in April 2025. 

Benjamin "Benji" Timm, Port DirectorImage of Port Director Benji Timm

Benji was appointed by Mayor Cavalier Johnson as the 9th Municipal Port Director in 2025.  He has spent 25 years in public service at the City of Milwaukee. Most of his career has been with the Department of City Development and focused on industrial real estate, business attraction and retention, brownfield redevelopment, and special projects. This work connected him with Port Milwaukee where he developed a deep understanding of the Port's role in the region's economy. 

He has worked with community partners and managed some of Milwaukee's most complex initiatives which required long-term strategies, patience, and vision. These initiatives were located in the 30th Street Industrial Corridor, Menomonee Valley, Granville, Near West Side, and Harbor District. Highlights include the attraction of Spanish train car manufacturer Talgo, Inc., the development of the Century City 1 Building, the historic redevelopment of McKinley School Apartments and Homes, MKE Urban Stables, and reimagining the former Northridge Mall. He continues to play a critical role in the Milwaukee Estuary Area of Concern (AOC), which is one of the largest environmental cleanups in Great Lakes history. 

He grew up in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan and attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is an unwavering supporter of "all things" Milwaukee and the Great Lakes. Benji lives in the Riverwest neighborhood with his wife, daughter, and their dog.
